True identity of figures unveiled

The figures in Jan Steen's renowned portrait entitled 'A burgomaster of Delft and his daughter' (1655), which the Rijksmuseum acquired in 2004, turns out not to be the burgomaster of Delft and his daughter. This was recently discovered by two researchers from the University of Amsterdam. read more »

Age On 22 September 2006, the travelling exhibition Rembrandt and the Golden Age: Masterpieces from the Rijksmuseum opened in the Dayton Art Institute in Dayton, Ohio in the United States.
